Hey everyone! For this blog post, I thought I’d share my top 5 constipation remedies. Over the last few years, I have dealt with constipation a LOT. It is something that I am a bit embarrassed to admit, but thankfully this is the internet and I can talk to other people about this. Thank goodness for the internet! =) Anyway, here is my list of my top 5 constipation remedies. Hopefully you will find these suggestions to be a big help. =)

1. Eat More Fiber!

This can NOT be said enough. You need to eat more fiber. It is very likely that this is what caused your constipation in the first place. Many high fiber foods include fruit, cereal, etc.

2. Exercise More!

Try and get more exercise! Besides keeping you in good shape, exercise can help keep your digestive system going smoothly. A walk each day is definitely recommended with fighting constipation.

3. Don’t Hold It In!

When you do have to go to the bathroom, don’t hold it in! You don’t want your body to get used to holding it in. It is very important to go to the bathroom when you feel the urge to go.

4. Take Laxatives!

Laxatives are a great way of helping you relieve constipation. However, because it is medication, you need to be careful. Do not take laxatives too often. You may also want to consult a doctor before you take them.

5. Constipation Help!

This isn’t exactly a specific remedy. But for my final remedy, I really recommend the Constipation Help guide! I began using it a few months ago and it has really helped me. It has an additional 30 constipation remedies, and they did wonders in helping my constipation. I highly recommend it, especially if these other remedies aren’t having much of an effect with you.

I hope these constipation remedies will help! Constipation is very annoying to deal with. However, from my experience these last few years, these are by far the best remedies for the situation. Good luck!

I’m back with an update on this constipation remedies blog! I decided to talk a bit about what I am currently using to help relieve my constipation troubles. It’s a book called Constipation Help. I have actually been using this book for a few months. I first came across it when I was searching the net for constipation remedies a few months back. I was really impressed by it at first, but I wanted to wait a bit and see how well it works before I mentioned it in this blog. So with that, I guess this is like my own Constipation Help review.

I remember back when I first saw this book online,. I was rather skeptical of it. I have dealt with constipation issues for many years. I have tried so many different strategies but I wasn’t having much luck. I figured that there’s no way this simple book could help me. However, after using Constipation Help these last few months, I am really impressed by this book.

To start, one thing that really impresses me is that there are over 30 different constipation remedies in this book. I didn’t have a lot of luck with a couple of them. However there are about 6-7 that I found to have really helped with my constipation. I suppose it’s one of those cases where different remedies work for different people. With at least 30 different constipation remedies in this book, I think the chances are good that you can find a constipation remedy that works for you.

Something else I like is that many of these constipation remedies are very common-sense type remedies. Before I started reading this book, I was worried that it was going to have a lot of phoney boloney (as my dad used to call it!) information. I had seen many of these types of pretend “cures” in the past. And embarrassingly… I even tried a few of them when I was really desperate to ease my constipation. Thankfully, there wasn’t anything like that with this book.

I should also note that this is actually an e-book. That means you download it on the computer and you are able to read it right away. Some people might prefer physical books, but I’m glad this was downloadable, so that I could get started on some of these remedies right away.

In all, I highly recommend this book. It has really helped me and I am hoping it can help some of my readers out there who are as frustrated as I was with constipation. If you are having any problems whatsoever with constipation and you are looking for constipation remedies, then definitely give Constipation Help a read.

Good luck with these constipation remedies!

For this post, I decided to write about the top 5 causes of constipation. Although I created this blog to discuss various constipation remedies, it’s also good to know what causes constipation to begin with. Constipation is something I have dealt with for many years. As you know, constipation is a common problem and at some point, nearly everyone will deal with it in their life time. It is also one of the most searched topics on the internet as far as medical topics. Many people ask, what causes constipation? Here we will look at the top 5 causes of constipation which is basically the top 5 reasons that made you come to my constipation remedies blog

1. Fiber

Not having enough fiber in your diet is by far the top cause of constipation. Fiber is important to the body for many reasons, the most important reason being for your digestion of course. Fruits have a lot of fiber. Many people that deal with constipation may find that they aren’t eating enough fruits. Make sure to eat plenty of fruit! Also, many types of cereal also include a lot of fiber.

2. Medications

Medications are supposed to help us, but they also carry side effects. One such side effect of many medications is constipation. Even some over-the-counter medications may cause medications. This can include Tylenol, and many anti-depressants. The best way to avoid this is to make sure you only take medications unless you absolutely need them. In addition, if you find out that one of your medications is causing this side effect, try looking for an alternative medication.

3. Habit

Are you in the habit of having to go to the bathroom but holding it? This may eventually lead to problems with constipation. It is important to go to the bathroom whenever you need to. Failure to do so can result in a decreased urge of having to go to the bathroom. This of course leads to constipation.

4. Hormones

Believe it or not, hormones can also affect your bathroom habits and lead to constipation. For instance, a woman who is going through her period may often find that she has a hard time going to the bathroom. If you are dealing with constipation and also dealing with hormones, this may be the cause.

5. Diseases

Although it is rare, constipation can also be caused by a disease that may affect the brain or spinal cord. Although you shouldn’t jump to conclusions, if you are dealing with long-term constipation you should always go to the doctor just to be safe.

I hope this list of the top 5 causes of constipation will help you in dealing with constipation in the future so you won’t have to search for constipation remedies. If you are to take anything from this list, it should be to make sure you have enough fiber in your diet! The majority of constipation problems can be fixed through a simple change in diet. So go start eating some fruit!

It is Murphy’s law that just when you are able to get food into your body without having it come back up, that you suddenly find you can not get the food out of your body. Nearly half of all the women who are pregnant suffer from constipation during pregnancy. This often leads to their search for constipation remedies.

What are the best constipation remedies? Well first, as with all symptoms of pregnancy there is a reason for constipation. When you are pregnant your body creates progesterone which in turns relaxes the muscles of the bowels and causes your digestive tracks to work much slower. Your digestive track works slower to make sure your body absorbs the nutrients from your food for your baby. This can create constipation, which if it not kept under control, can lead to hemorrhoids.

There are some ways you can help avoid constipation throughout your pregnancy. Make sure you included plenty of fiber in your diet. This is something that many people who are searching for constipation remedies seem to forget. Fiber absorbs water and can help to soften your stools and speed their passage. Eat plenty of high fiber foods like whole grain cereal and oatmeal. Instead of eating white bread with your sandwiches, eat whole grain breads. Add some oat bran to your cereals or yogurt.

Fresh fruits are also an excellent way to get your fiber in. Melons and plums have a high amount of fiber in them as wells as dried fruits like figs, raisins, apricots and of course the well known favorite prunes. Prunes and prune juice have a like laxative effect and will help keep things moving properly in your body. Aim to eat at least 25 to 30 grams of fiber a day. You can tell you are getting enough fiber if your stools are large and soft and you aren’t straining to pass them. Keep in mind though that too much fiber can lead to diarrhea which can lead to dehydration so do not over do the fiber in your diet.

Also, drinking plenty of fluid will help you combat constipation. Fluids help keep digestive products moving through your system so it is very important for you to drink at least six to eight glasses of water a day. Keeping up with your fluids is important especially if you are increasing your intake of fiber. Your body needs to water to soak up the fiber otherwise it can cause more constipation.

Also, make sure you are eating your yogurt if you can. Yogurt has a bacteria called acidophilus that helps stimulate the intestinal bacteria to break down food better. Look at your prenatal. Some of the prenatal that women take contain a lot of iron and iron can play a big part in constipation. Talk to your doctor to see if you can switch for a while to a different prenatal that contains less iron or at least stay off of the prenatal for a while until your constipation is under control.

Avoid foods that can lead to constipation. White bread and some cereals such as corn flakes can lead to constipation as well as white rice and bananas. If all this fails, give your doctor a call to see if there is something you can take to help keep you regulated. Most doctors will allow you to take Metamucil to help keep things moving.

Constipation is never pleasant but during pregnancy it can be even extra uncomfortable. Make sure you take the steps to avoid constipation. It will help make your pregnancy that much more enjoyable. If you find that even the extra steps won’t work, then consider trying out the Natural Remedies for Constipation Program.

Good luck!

- Ashley

~~~~
If you think your baby has constipation just because he has infrequent stools, then you better think again. Having infrequent stools does not really mean constipation although this malady is characterized by erratic bowel movement. So what are the best constipation remedies? First let’s take a look at what causes constipation.
Constipation is a result of a deficient and wrong diet, inadequate intake of fluids or a problematic colon. Babies who take in too much refined food can be candidates for constipation.
So how does one know when a child has constipation? A child may have constipation if he has very dry and hard stools. A person’s feces or solid waste passes through the colon because the latter normally gets rid of the water that is within the stool. However, when the colon is not functioning well, it may remove too much of the water in the feces resulting to very dry and hard stool, thereby resulting to constipation.
In simple words, constipation occur when the body’s solid waste stay in the colon, thereby extracting more fecal stool than what is necessary. This happens when a person‘s colon has lesser movement as a result of a diet that does not properly stimulate the colon to do its normal function. Constipation also occurs when there is a barrier in the GI tract as when there are problems with the anus or a tumor blockage.
Babies, especially those who are breast-fed, do not really experience constipation because the baby absorbs nearly all of the milk and there is little residue left. Infants naturally release their waste less often but it does not mean they are constipated. However, when they are ready to get their feces off, they usually do it with a lot of grunting and forcing. This should not worry parents though because it is normal as the baby’s anus may still be a little taut and needs more stretching before the stool can be released.
It is a different story though for formula-fed babies who can get constipated due to the milk residue in the colon. When these infants become toddlers and given a more solid diet later on, then they can be more prone to getting constipation.
For babies with really tight anus and who regularly experiences discomfort when passing stool, it is best to have a rectal examination by a trusted doctor to make sure there is no obstruction in the anus.
So what is the best constipation remedy? How is constipation in children treated? One way of avoiding and treating child constipation is to improve his diet. There are mothers and even doctors who recommend the mixture of Karo syrup, the one used for hotcakes, with the baby’s milk. The intake of fruit juices like apple or prunes may also help in loosening the stool.
Always seek your pediatricians advice. Until then, for the best constipation remedies, I recommend Natural Remedies For Constipation
